Fun Academy welcomed a delegation from Ecuador at the Playful Learning Center of the University of Helsinki, last Monday. They were education experts from Ecuador enthusiastic to find out more about the early childhood education in Finland. During the event, they got a unique orientation of the world renowned Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). Furthermore, they learned about the Fun Learning approach developed by Fun Academy.
Playful Learning Putting the Wellbeing of Children at Heart
First of all Olli Kamunen, Finnish pedagogical expert and Fun Academy Trainer, introduced the group to the Finnish education system. There after they found out more about the role of an Early Childhood Education and Care practitioner in Helsinki. Then they took a playful learning adventure exploring Fun Academy’s Fun Learning approach. It was specially exciting to share this unique approach that develops STEAM and important life skills in preschoolers. Above all how it instills a passion for lifelong learning not only in children but also teachers. The delegates got a first hand taste of the marvel of Fun Learning. The inspiring, vibrant and uniquely designed learning environment of the Playful Learning Center helped to shape their experience.
The Playful Learning Center – University of Helsinki
The Playful Learning Center where the event took place is a living lab. It enables co-development of innovative, play-based education solutions that foster creativity and the joy of learning among students and teachers. Fun Academy collaborated in designing this lab which is funded by TEKES (Business Finland). It provides an ecosystem for researchers, educators, teacher education professionals and businesses to collaborate on innovative education solutions. Above all it connects academic, educational, cultural and industry experts to accelerate 21st century learning.
The Fun Learning Approach
Fun Academy developed the Fun Learning approach which is a holistic approach to early education. It helps teachers to promote key life skills to little children.
